This drawing Is my response to the 2019 UK elections, where issues around borders, immigration and sovergeignty were at the forefront of at least 50% of the population. Meanwhile people from the former colonies, namely the Caribbean were being deported after many had spent some 50+ years of their lives in the UK, as active citizens who had been invited to help rebuild post war Britain. I wanted to comment on the cyclical nature of colonial history, and ask questions around Britishness, culture and the very idea of nationhood.
